NICOLE ARCHAMBAULT BESSON, EdS, MS, CCC-SLP, CLEC, CIMI, CID
Nicole Archambault Besson is an ASHA board certified speech-language pathologist, orofacial myologist, certified lactation educator-counselor, and a certificated educational specialist in brain research. She is the owner and director of MiNDs In MoTiON, a private practice clinic in Santa Monica, California serving children with a wide range of speech, language, communication and learning needs. Nicole has worked with children with special needs and their families in various settings throughout the western United States, including the Outpatient Pediatric Therapy Clinic at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, as well as abroad. In addition, Nicole has lectured at the UCLA Early Childhood Center and to parents and educators within the Los Angeles area. She has received invitations to lecture and train therapists internationally, serve as a delegate of the People to People Citizen Ambassador Programs in Communication Sciences & Disorders for foreign countries, and speak on auditory processing disorders on the PBS television show- A Place of Their Own. Nicole's clinical areas of expertise include: auditory & language processing, orofacial myology, cognitive communication/executive function, brain-based learning, metacognitive skill training, autism spectrum disorders, and developmental speech and language disorders in the birth to three population. With a clinical emphasis in early intervention parent training, Nicole holds various certifications including: Hanen Certified in It Takes Two to Talk, Certified Infant Massage Instructor, and Independent Certified Instructor of Baby Signs®.

| Nicole holds graduate and advanced graduate level degrees in Speech-Language Pathology and Education, graduating summa cum laude in both. Nicole obtained her Educational Specialist Degree with a specialization in Brain Research and a concentration in Instructional Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Nicole also holds a Master of Science Degree in Speech & Hearing Sciences from the University of New Mexico, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech & Hearing Sciences from Washington State University, and the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). She completed her Lactation Educator-Counselor training through the University of California San Diego. In addition, Nicole has studied Orofacial Myology with the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy. Nicole has trained extensively in brain-based learning with internationally recognized, neurological expert Eric Jensen, a pioneer in the field of brain-compatible learning.
During her academic and clinical training, Nicole was the recipient of the prestigious All-American Scholar Collegiate Award from the United States Achievement Academy, the Maynard Lee Daggy Award from Washington State University, and was listed on both the President's Honor Roll and the All-Athletic Academic Honor Roll. Her scholastic achiev ements have also earned her lifetime membership in the Golden Key National Honor Society. Nicole has contributed to research in phonatory and acoustic analysis of the voice. Her research has been published in Medical Problems of Performing Artists and was presented at the American-Speech-Language Hearing Association National Convention. Nicole has also participated in field research for the development of the ASA- Auditory Skills Assessment.
As a professional with various contributions in her field and related areas, Nicole has een named to Who's Who In The World, Who's Who in America, Who's Who In Medicine & Healthcare, Who's Who of Emerging Leaders, and Who's Who of American Women. She is also part of a select group of individuals who have received the ACE award from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. Nicole is a four time recipient for her dedication to continued professional study.
Nicole is an active member of her professional associations on state and national levels including the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and the California Speech-Language & Hearing Association (CSHA). In addition, Nicole is a member of the National Coalition on Auditory Processing Disorders (NCAPD), a member of the International Society for Developmental Neuroscience, (ISDN), an associate member of the Academy of Neurologic Communication Disorders and Sciences (ANCDS), a member of the International Mind, Brain, & Education Society (IMBES), and a member of the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM).
Nicole's love of children and genuine interest in their over all well being are reflected in her many pediatric ventures. She is a Senior Consultant for the "I'm A Good Little Traveler!"™ DVD Toolkit Series (www.goodlittletraveler.com). She is also a Certified Interior Decorator and Integrative Developmental Designer. In this capacity, Nicole is the owner of Room to Grow- an integrative developmental design company promoting brain development through innovative children's rooms.
